What does the ACK button on M88200 module do?
IRD8800 module M88200 is meant for Casing Vibration. It has the facility to set Alarm and Trip set points via the Keypad and the Relays can be set to Latching Enabled. This way when a relay gets energised after crossing the Threshold - it will latch on to its activated setting even after the level drops below threshold. The operator will have to manually acknowledge the relay to remove the latching and restore relay to deactivated condition. The ACK button on Keypad is provided for this very purpose - to acknowledge a Latched relay.

Long pressing the ACK button acknowledges the relay and removes the latch (please note that relay will latch again if threshold crosses again - this will happen till latching is enabled in menu)
How is Latching Useful? Say the operator is at home and a dangerous vibration exceeding Alarm level comes and triggers the Alarm relay. If latching is disabled and the dangerous vibration passes away before the operator rejoins work - then the relay will also deactivate and the operator will never come to know that an alarming vibration had occured while he/she was away. But, if relay latching was enabled - the operator would have found the LED corresponding to the Relay glowing even after dangerous vibration went away and the operator would become aware of where the dangerous vibration occured (which machine on which bearing and which direction) and would have been able to take corrective or preventive actions to safeguard the monitored machine. Once safeguarding complete - the operator would be able to acknowledge the relay and proceed with normal monitoring and protection of the machine.
