How to connect IRD521 with IRD7100

IRD521 is an Accelerometer which gives a voltage output proportional to Vibration Acceleration. This output has a nominal sensitivity of 100 mV/g +/- 10% over the frequency range. This voltage output is converted to user-interprettable vibration using the Machinery Protection Transmitter IRD7100

To connect the two, suitable cables are required. If the hardware required to complete the connections is available, then IRD521 can be connected to IRD7100. Based on the Customer's order, IRD7100 will read vibration in either Acceleration or Velocity. The sensor to transmitter connections that need to be done are:
  1. The Signal Wire (usually red or white in colour) needs to be connected to Terminal 1 of the Input Terminal of IRD7100
  2. The Ground and Shield Wire (usually Black and Green in colour respectively) needs to be connected to Terminal 2 of the Input Terminal of IRD7100
  3. The loop of the signal wire needs to be connected to Terminal 3 of the Input Terminal of IRD7100. This will ensure loop power to the Sensor
After the above connections are done, IRD521 will become active and will start transmitting vibration to IRD7100 when the Transmitter IRD7100 is ON. The Transmitter will then provide Display of Vibration (if equipped with Display), 4-20 mA DC Output, 0 - 5 V DC Output and Alarm and Trip Relay contacts
