Introduction

About IRD Mechanalysis Limited

IRD Mechanalysis Limited also commonly referred as IRD is a Condition Monitoring Solutions provider to the World since 1962. IRD designs, manufactures and supplies Portable Instruments and Online Systems for Vibration, Temperature, Speed, Gap and Turbine Monitoring. Since IRD has been dominant in Vibration Monitoring - many refer IRD to as 'The Vibration People'. IRD also provides associated services in Condition Monitoring such as Consulting, Training, Commissioning, Repairs and Calibration. To know more about IRD - please visit www.irdmech.com

About IRD7200 MST (Machinery Signal Transmitter)

IRD7200 MST (Machinery Signal Transmitter) is a Din Rail mountable Signal Transmitter made by IRD. It is a 2 Channel device that can be factory configured for either Vibration Monitoring or Temperature Monitoring or Speed Monitoring or Gap Monitoring. When configured for Vibration Monitoring - IRD7200 boasts the following provisions:
  1. Works on 24 V DC Input Power. We recommend providing 24 V DC Input power from a Regulated Power Supply
  2. Consumes less power - less than 2W approx
  3. Accepts Simultaneous Input from 2 independent Vibration Sensors. The Vibration Sensors need to be specified at time of ordering - with choice ranging from sensors with sensitivity either in mV/g (Accelerometers), mV/mm/sec (Velometers) or mV/um (Non Contact Eddy Current Probes)
  4. Provides 1:1 Buffered Output per channel either on Terminals or on BNC (as ordered). This can be used for connecting a Vibration Analyser or Data Acquisition System for Vibration Analysis and Diagnostics
  5. Provides Isolated 4-20 mA output per channel proportional to factory set full scale range. This can be used as Analog Input in DCS/PLC/SCADA.
  6. Provides 0-5 V DC Output proportional to factory set full scale range. This can be used as Input for External display.
  7. Comes in an easy to mount Din Rail enclosure suited for standard 35mm Din Rail

Features and Specifications of IRD7200 MST

Power Input to IRD7200 MST

IRD7200 MST is designed for 24 V DC Power Input. Each 2 Channel unit consumes less than 2W max power - thereby having great energy efficiency. IRD recommends providing 24 V DC Power Input to IRD7200 from an Uniterrupted Power Supply (UPS) or a Regulated Power Supply (RPS). The Input Power can be minimum 18 V DC and maximum 30 V DC for proper functioning of the Transmitter

Info
When the Input Power is properly connected - the Green LED on front will glow indicating proper Input Power being received to the Transmitter

Channel Healthiness indication in IRD7200 MST

IRD7200 is a 2 Channel Din Rail mounted Vibration Transmitter. It's front face is equipped with 1 LED per Channel that indicates Channel Healthiness. When a Vibration Sensor like an Accelerometer 100 mV/g is connected to a particular channel of IRD7200 - then the LED glows RED when:
  1. The Sensor and Cable are Healthy and Connected in correct terminal sequence
  2. The Bias Voltage of the Sensor and Cable is between 9.5 V DC and 15 V DC.
In the event of breakage of cable or fault in sensor - the Bias voltage will either exceed 15 V DC or reduce below 9.5 V DC - thereby indicating a fault and the RED LED will turn off in that case - thereby helping the user come to know visually that the connected channel is having some problem in either the cable or the sensor.

Connecting External Display to IRD7200 MST

IRD7200 MST has 0-5 V DC Output per channel. This is proportional to Full Scale. This can be used as Signal Input to an External Third Party Display. 1000 Ohms is max resistance
