Introduction to M88500 Differential Expansion Monitoring Module

M88500 is our Differential Expansion Monitoring Module. It accepts Input from Two Non-Contact Eddy Current based Sensors. It then computes the Complimentary as well as Ramp Differential Expansion

Input Power Requirement

M88500 Differential Expansion Module requires +24 V DC, 1.25 A DC (30 VA) Input Power for Functioning. If the Customer is unable to provide 24 V DC directly and has AC Input Power Supply with them - then a Regulated Power Supply module should be used to first convert the Input AC Power to 24 V DC.

RPS60 of Selec is a Good choice for powering 1 or 2 Modules as it has a capacity of 60 VA and accepts 90-270 V AC, 50/60 Hz, Single Phase Input and converts it to Regulated +24 V DC, 2.5 A DC (60 VA) - and can thus power 1 or 2 Modules of M88500

Supported Sensor Sensitivities

M88500 supports Non-Contact Eddy Current based Sensors of the following Sensitivities:
  1. 1.4 V/mm
  2. 0.8 V/mm
  3. 0.63 V/mm
  4. 0.4 V/mm

4-20 mA Output

M88500 provides 4-20 mA output proportional to Full Scale. For example - if Sensors in use are 1.4 V/mm and Full Scale is +/- 6 mm - then when Differential Expansion is -6.00 mm then the module provides 4 mA Current Output and when the Differential Expansion is +6.00 mm - then the module provides 20mA Current Output.
