How to Check Calibration of IRD306DI with its Sensor

In order to check the Calibration of IRD306DI with its Sensor IRD544, a Portable Vibration Calibrator or a Permanent Vibration Calibrator is needed.
The Calibrator should have the facility to generate a pure vibration of a fixed frequency and a fixed amplitude.
If the Calibrator has the facility to change the frequency as well as amplitude, then it is even better and will allow for checking at multiple points.
To check the Calibration, connect the Meter to its Sensor. Place the Sensor on the Calibrator. Give an input vibration of Frequency 100 Hz and Amplitude 1 g peak. The meter should then read the following:
  1. In Velocity Mode, the meter should read 11 mm/sec RMS +/- 10%
  2. In Displacement Mode, the meter should read 50 microns peak-peak +/- 10%
If your meter is not reading within the tolerance range, then it implies that either the sensor or the meter has lost its calibration. Our service center can help repair and recalibrate the meter at a small charge.
