4mA Adjustment in IRD8800 Module M88210
4-20 mA is a popular and standard Industrial Output that is integrated with DCS/PLC/SCADA. These are configured in such a manner in the control room that an output of anything below 4.00 mA DC is considered an invalid signal. Signal Cables usually have a Loop Resistance that may cause drop in a calibrated 4mA output. To recalibrate the 4mA output for site conditions - IRD8800 has 4mA adjustment facility on each channel - this allows to adjust the counts to set the 0 value or 4mA to a valid value of 4.00 or greater - so that there is no invalid signal treatment at the DCS/PLC/SCADA end.
